DRDO – Basic salary of Scientist G is Rs 1,44,200, Scientist H is Rs 1,82,200, Eminent Scientist is Rs 2,05,400 per month. The salary of the scientist who becomes the chairman of DRDO is up to Rs 2,25,000 per month.

History of DRDO

The Defense Research and Development Establishment was started in 1947. A laboratory named Jiwaji Industrial Research Laboratory (JIRL) was built by the then Maharaja of Gwalior, Jiwaji Rao Scindia. JIRL was inaugurated on December 28, 1947 by Lord Earl Mountbatten, the then Governor-General of India. In November 1963, JIRL was taken over by the Ministry of Defense of the Government of India. Till 1972, it was placed under the administrative control of Defense Research Laboratory (Materials), Kanpur. After that in the year 1973 it was made a completely independent unit as Defense Research and Development Establishment (DRDE).

DRDO is developing such platforms which have significantly increased our combat capabilities. It has helped India achieve remarkable achievements, which are as follows –
